Don't you get it man? They had a forumala that made them cult and they got rid of it all in trade for money and to be rock stars. Of course they are always good musicians, thats why the cult liked them in the first place. They were different and unique. Now they make weak album to appeal to normal metal guys, get rid of cult artwork in trade for cartoon cover art and Samael and Blut Aus Nord rip off symbols and gold artwork. Those guys are not my "idols" chump, but those guys represents what true Black Metal is supposed to be and have been around longer then most others people. It is supposed to be against the mainstream bands and against normal fans of rock and metal music. Inquisition now caters to regular metal fans. Dagon do his sweet rock star swaying hips and pouting duck lips on stage for the goth girls to get wet over, but the cult guys spit at the ground where they stand now. By the time the MG of Lucifer was created, this new species took hold of all that was innovative in the genre. This was music that a listener could not only headbang to but actually meditate and alter consciousness to. A state of trance so untypical of the metal genre generally. And it was all due to the style of delivery. This style, especially vocally and drum-wise, now appears to be absent. Regarding merch, I fully support it and will buy - but only if it symbolizes the Cult below described.10 years ago

I see. You were a bit unspecific with your initial comment, so I wrongly assumed that you were throwing Inquisition into the same category as the posers of the scene. Misunderstanding resolved. Now, for your claim of their musical progression - my view is that they were sharply differentiated from the BM standard already from the first record! The innovative unconventional drumming, gentle vocals and contrasting riffs were progressive from the onset. From album one they were a new species.10 years ago

i definitely wasn't clear in my comment. in no way did i ever call inquisition "ironic painted sheep". i love inquisition, and a lot of bm, and would not be on this video if i didn't. i was criticizing those who you called "poser faggots of the scene", although those aren't the words i would use. as for your clarification of Cult, and why this amazing band is apparently not cult enough anymore, i would argue that they're progressing as musicians. whats conformist with merch and good production?10 years ago

Point is, in Inquisition's case, it's definitely not just music. It is an attempt to sub-culturally influence a small group of people into merging ideologically and creating an aesthetically superior culture. This is what the Cult is. The irony lies on the poser faggots of the scene, but not on these two guys. But here's the issue that Thomas stated - as of this new release, it appears that even Inquisition has become conformist shit. They're cultural form is no longer beautiful. Cult is void.10 years ago
