Song structure isn't very complex; this is true, there aren't many crazy time changes or polyrhythms and etc. that make the songs hard to follow. He wasn't pertaining to the technicality of playing, so go pick up your guitar again :)

A simple idea can be hellish to play and a really intelligent musical arrangement can be extremely simple to. You guys confuse structural complexity with technical requirement for its execution.

well im sure they dont strictly use it for writing but he did say in the video how he used it for that if i remember correctly. when you put a limited technological filter in between you and the instrument when you write, id say its not ideal for expressing yourself through the instrument to the true limitless possibilities. it is a useful tool i can see though, in writing for you in your circumstance and i dont mean to diminish from what you do.
