While experimenting with capturing video clips from DVD, I came up with this. It's an assortment of train clips over the song I'm A Train.

This song is not available on iTunes, unfortunately, but you can purchase a CD from Amazon at this location:

Had this on my 1st K-Tel 8-Track titled "20 Dynamite Hits". Reminds me a bit of Paul Simon.

Anyone remember Captain Kangaroo and the episode they played this song with a video showing footage of the big boy engines?

It was also used as opening theme music on a video called "Great Toy Train Layouts of America", at least I thought i recalled that!

The bass line in this sounds a lot like Bert Kaempfert's music from the 60's. Great sound...

Nog een voor de Veteranen onder ons......1973 geen herry maar gewoon muziek voor een ieder hoorbaar die er maar naar wil luisteren. Veel luisterplezier. Peter Hoks Badhoevedorp / Amsterdam 25 Augustus 2014

I remember this from when I worked on the 'breakdown service' on the NZR. There was massive storm damage done to the single rail link from Napier to Gisborne. (New Zealand) The track was closed for 5 days and we made Gisborne, early evening on the 5th day and the local radio station played this several times that night..Sadly after more major damage the track was closed.

Forty years ago, I was begging Chicago radio stations to go on this song. Finally, WCFL added it one fine Tuesday. I think WLS played it a couple of weeks after 'CFL. I was too old to be watching Captain Kangaroo, so I was unaware until now that the song was aired on his show.

I first thought this was by Ringo Starr, but I was 11 or 12. My mom bought this for me on 45. I love the flip side too, Brand New Day

That was awesome! I keep this song tucked away with my other childhood morning memories including Captain Kangaroo, New Zoo Review. the ORIGINAL 1975 Ghost Busters, Schoolhouse Rock and Time for Timer. "While I'm waiting, can you make me a banana? OK you're a banana!

I was so psyched when this song came out. My first train ride was the Amtrak Metroliner from Philadelphia to DC with my dad back in the mid '70's . I was age 9
