When my Navy fiancé returned from the South Pacific after two years from 1942 to 1944 we married in May and when he left again I wrote him twice a day and at the bottom of each letter I wrote "I'll Be Seeing You". He returned in May of 1945 and the navy knew he was on his way back to San Francisco so my letters to him had been held up at the Naval P.O. He handed me my 45 unopened letters which I placed in a heart shaped box. I lost him 28 years ago and inscribed on his military tombstone are the words "I'll Be Seeing You." This May would have been our 71st wedding anniversary and the letters remain in the heart shaped box on the night stand beside my bed still unopened. Whenever I hear this song the memories pull on my heart strings.10 years ago
