My culture is not your entertainment. This is cultural appropriation at its best. Whichever white country you go to, there are people who will make fun of people of different ethnicities and then go and "adopt the culture" to show how trendy they are. White people have done this with dreadlocks, unibrows, bindis, henna design, ethnic clothing etc. Take Zendaya's dreadlock issue for instance, or coachella/claim the bindi movement. When people of colour try to adapt to the dominant white lifestyle they are often labelled as wannabes by the white population, and when they exhibit their own culture they are seen as attention seeking and are often told to 'go back where they came from'. This is the only reason why it is offensive to people of colour when white artists don the ethnic cultures just to attract the favour from the culture displayed. As an Indian living in a white dominated country, it is not uncommon to be stared at, mocked, and actively ridiculed when wearing ethnic clothing or making mentions of my culture. Micro-aggressions like these are a part of the normal day to day for people who are brave enough to wear their ethnicities other than their skin colour.

A lot of people find this offensive because she's putting on the trappings of a culture that doesn't belong to her (Black American and Indian). While Black girls are getting assaulted by police officers because of how they wear their culture, Iggy is cherry-picking the things about Black culture that make her money and she can put them on or take them off as is convenient for her. That makes some people angry because for one thing, she's making a profit off of it while reinforcing stereotypes like the poverty of India and exoticism of Indian women. While this may not be "racist," per se, I certainly think it is ignorant, ethnocentric, and indicative of humongous white privilege. I'm not trying to tell you what you should or should not be offended by, just to explain why it is that she makes a lot of people uncomfortable.
