@entwistle4ever. more to the point he stays out of the way of a good melody by not overplaying like a lot of drummers do. Ian serves the song well and his tightness with the bass player in his accents shows in this clip at the beginning as if it was a written piece.

Bonham ain't so groove as peak Paice, but John was always great. Paice went downhill at Whitesnake period. You've gotta be kidding to mention Powell at a same sentence with Paice and Bonham! Cozy was a banger, not a drummer. Good banger though.

Funny shit. Rod Morgenstein is better than both of the humpies mentioned, hands down, no question. Peak Morgenstein or non-peak Morganstein - don't even go there. He was nothing but peak. Let's now talk about Morse vs. Blackmore. Not even. I think Sir Ritchie was quoted as saying in Guitar Player (not sure why he was mentioned) that the first time he heard a Dregs tune that he downed a bottle of JD and called a day knowing that he couldn't even come close to playing that dude's stuff.

Peak Paice was better than peak Peart. Todays Peart is better than todays Paice, unfortunately. Paice is all time best rock drummer, though. All time best in every categories is Buddy Rich.
