It's 1971 or 72, me & my older brother Bob and me take the 15 bus to the Sears at Bayshore, and each of us chip in half, and buy this record... We were 11 and 13 i think... We played it over and over, because back then you tried like all hell to be "mod"...And this musical was Mod as it gets...If you never obsessed about being Mod... You never lived in the early 70s..Neighbor boys were going to Vietnam, and coming home changed. 1 l remember dearly baby sat for us years earier...Pizza, Coca-Cola, then Adam 12 and emergency...He died in Vietnam in 1974.Circumstances of his death, were such that, no body was recovered, only a small chunk of his right combat boot was found, with toes and some ripped skin...He was hit directly by a VC rocket propelled grenade.Death was instant and catastrophic... They did bury that tiny bit..So many adults weeping at his funeral... He was a bright, energetic, good looking American kid...Who gave all his tomorrows, for our todayGoddamn that funeral sucked... My first one, closed casket, flag, weeping, wailing, it made no sence in my juvemile mind that he really was dead... But he was.Mom & pop always teased us about long hair devil music... Bob and I loved so many great 60s & 70s music... Dad was working at the hospital, mom would soon return to the university, to work in the Chancellor's office...We had an awesome Victorian era home, food in the fridge, heat in winter, AC in summer, great big new Ford or Chevy wagon every 2 years... Life had hopeThere still was an American dream...Mom & Dad both gone to their reward, they are loved and missedAnd Bob, my brother, who used to set up our 1930sLionel train in the basement with me, and my music buddy who lived to Craaaannnk it uuuup...He moved to Indianapolis20 some years agoHaven't seen him or spoken to him in that timeMy last living relative, he is...My legs were crushed in January 2016 when i was struck & runover by an inattentive driver.Forced disability retirement,Never worked again after 6 JanuaryNow pushing 60In a cruddy "assisted" living... Assisted by angry man-type women who make you beg for another cookie, or glass of milk...I have no one l own nothingI too, am nothing.Patient xxx-xxxx in bed 108.I watch youtube... And watch life go by... in my tiny window... People in love, smiling as they walkCouples deep in love pushing newborn # 1Young kids wearing clothes today that screm sexuality..It all goes by my windowAs i wait for the inevitable...DeathWill always playThe winning card...Soon, i hopeHuman beings aren't designed to live unlovedIn isolation.... I have had quite enough of thisCheers

This song is so beautiful. It speaks of a Woman who has only ever known how to show 'Love' to a Man through sex. Now, she is confronted by someone who loves her unconditionally and who expects nothing in return. She also realizes that for the first time in her life, she TRULY loves a Man.....and it terrifies her.

So Jesus was just a man? Same here. I m just a man. I am non-violent. A fearless protector of life. I fight injustice. This all makes me a target of society and the law. Want to live a happy life? Keep a low profile.

I would like to think that a religion invented by man has any factual truth to it. This blind faith BS is old. At least Christianity isn't represented by a pedo like allah. I will still celebrate Christmas and hope Jesus is real. Faith?

It's a shame you dropped the "Everything's Alright" reprise intro, which really sets the tone for this lovely ballad.
