If you want to keep it true to the record, don't play the rest of the D at the end, just thump the A for a quarter and stop :P At the way these folks are "picking" this tutorial apart, I'm surprised they didn't say that already! Loved it, and looking forward to using it to learn the song!

Stop misleading people with those titles. This is NOT how McCartney played. The Ddim and Dmaj7 you do are actually E7 and regular A.The G chord at 0:43 has the B string open in the original reccording. After that, he does a slide from D string from 4th to 5th (you did from 3th to 5th) and then he hits the strings GBE open, doing the slide again and then hitting the GBE open again, very quickly so it doesn't get of the timing.You can play like that, definitely, but stop putting the fucking title "How Paul McCartney played".

Hi TimSandals. Thanks for making this video. I wanted to learn this song but no other video plays like the record! I can't even play the first part up to the slow tempo yet, but working on it. I do have some questions, if you don't mind:1) On the fifth chord of the song (the first chord of the song that has the open low E string as the bass note), I cannot tell which fret(s) your index (pointer) finger is pressing on. It looks like a bar on e, B, G, but when I play that it doesn't sound right. I tried just pressing on the G (along with the ring finger on the third fret of the B string of course), and it sounds right...but it doesn't look like you do that in the video. In the video it also looks like you are pressing on the third fret of the high e string with your pinky finger, but I am not sure if it is just hanging there and not doing anything. If I could just have the tabular for that one chord I would really appreciate it.2) This question is similar to the first one. Right after you finish playing the fifth chord of the song (the one I had a question about), it looks like you bar the second fret of the first three strings (e-B-G) with your index finger. Am I right or are you doing something different?3) Starting on the fifth chord of the song, you pick the B string instead of the previously picked high e string to begin the chords. For both this chord and the next (sixth) chord of the song, I am having a hard time telling whether or not you play the high e string at all, or if you just strum the G and B string with your index. It is particularly hard for me to tell on the sixth chord (the one mentioned in question 2). It looks like you start by plucking the A string (bass) while at the same time strumming the D and G strings downwardly with your index finger. Then I think you pick the G string in an upward stroke, and then go down again, this time playing all 3 strings (G-B-e). But I am not sure, because it kind of looks like you mute the e string with your ring finger. If you could just clear up which strings you are strumming for those two chords (fifth and sixth), I would appreciate it! 4) Another strumming question: in one chord that comes six chords after the 3-note bass progression at the beginning, you play a chord identical to the sixth chord of the song, however in the middle of it you hammer on the third fret of the B string. My question is, in that entire chord do you ever play the high e string or do you only strum the G and B strings? I tried strumming all, but the sound of the high e string conflicted with the main sound coming from the hammering on of the B string. I just want to make sure which strings you are strumming in this chord. Thanks for your time to answer these questions. Once again I really appreciate it! This is the only video of yours that I have watched but consider me a subscriber. Off to watch your short films now!

Sorry Tim, I don't quite understand when you talk about a slide up to C7. Isn't that a slide to Gm6 (XX5353) or is there a C in the bass, making it a C7?. Thanks for your uploads too, they're great. By the way, when the video started, I actually thought it was an Abbey Road session tape. You sound freakishly like Macca. Good work.
