yeh ok, but i doubt it was sung in the house of the rising sun.back in the day they would warn people about making wrong choices in life and how/ where you could end up. In this case the house of the rising sun was the place of ill repute, and while she could leave any time she wanted, she no longer fit in anywhere else, thats why she was heading back. owner owner of a whore/gambling house would have a singers legs broke for warning people about the fast life and ending up in his establishment.
