Hey guys with the latest persecution of Christians with Isis I realized the parallels of this song with martyrs and persecution.First, God is love, right? So that is what they are fighting for, God and the salvation he gives. And that is what they "gave their lives for" So this also means they are not fighting their oppressors. They are fighting to have the empire taken down, the "king" of this world taken off his throne. They are fighting to keep their faith alive and will write it down in blood for others to see. They remember their home. They "stand up" because they are "given no choice" but display their faith. And what is the purpose of displaying their faith? Of fighting for Love? To bring others to Christ. So cool!
