God will share his light in Heaven, when all is "said & done." This goes out to "all" personnel who wore the uniform, past & present...

This song was written by Mac David and I was glad to see him perform this not long after I lost Gary in Vietnam. I cried all the way home. This song fits any veteran of a war. All of them are glad to go home and have loved ones waiting and praying for them. Gary you are home in our hearts.

So so sad it makes me cry ! And brings back memories of a dear young boy we lost in the Iraq war.

When I was in the US Army, the intensity of emotions was overwhelming, when activation orders arrived. Yet we had to focus to survive. God's presence becomes so real, so very very real. Thank you Jesus for being with me and keeping me safe.

It is hard to see the keyboard with tears in your eyes. Although I am a big fan of many Gary Puckett songs, "Home" is the one that stays with me year after year. As a Vietnam vet, I can't think of any other song that captures the range of emotions felt by those sent to war and those left behind. I don't ever remember hearing the song played on the radio, and only discovered it much later when playing the album. Puckett symbolized the memory of home, family, and loved ones up with a simple piece of chocolate cake, which is perfect. He also made sure that the listener knew that some young soldiers will not make it home alive. Every politician eager to send our youth to war should have to watch this video before they vote.

Made it back home in 72 with God's grace and the brotherhood of the badass marine company this navy corpsman was attached to. Thanks to those who made it home alive. I salute the honered dead by hopefully living a full life that they never got the chance to do. Semper Fi !!

Song is just as relevant now as it was then. Timeless... Unfortunately. A special heartfelt thank you for those who have fought/fallen for our flag.
