I am hearing "Big John's bootleg Whiskey". And Old Crow Liquor is right too (that shows up on the google)and the other mystifying line is "though you're real high -"

I've been looking for the third verse everywhere, thank you for posting. I was listening today and I think it may be Big John's Bootleg "Whiskey." I know you're not sure of the word. I'm not sure but I think he says whiskey. Thanks for the vid.

Does any get the last line but 1 in verse 3 ? Is it "now you're on a real high, I'm pretty sure you're gonna knock em dead" ? C.

I've listened carefully & the difficult phases I think I've got are: "a pretty shawl on baby" in verse 2 "the big time's fully quit, cost's much more than I can stand" Thank's for "Old Crow liquor", I also thought it was "own corn liquor" Regards, C

On this day in 1965 {July 28th} Tommy Tucker performed "Hi-Heeled Sneakers" on the ABC-TV program 'Shindig!'... One year earlier on February 8th, 1964 it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #11 and also spent 11 weeks on the Top 100... It reached #23 on the U.K. Singles chart... Sadly, Mr. Tucker, born Robert Higginbotham, passed away on January 22nd, 1982 at the young age of 48... R.I.P. Mr. Tucker and Jimmy O'Neill {Shindig's host, 1940 - 2013}...

I have the original 45 on my 1965 Rockola Starlet Juke Box, and the 3rd verse wasn't on it, maybe because it would have been too long to fit on the vinyl.

Does your old, original 45 have the third verse on it?

Hey thanks! I'd been looking for this extra verse and I thought it was "Old Corn Liquor"? But you're right, its "Crow" (From Old Crow straight bourbon whiskey made by Beam) I can now sing it right with my band!

I'm old enough and lucky enough to be one of those who bought this single in the UK when it first came out. Originally I thought T Tucker was the guitar-player but he is the organ player. Does anybody know the name of the guitarist on this track?

I use these lyrics from an old ZZtop song called "Hi Fi mamma" Goes like this. "I want your hi fi mamma, won't you let me play tonight. I want your hifi mamma, won't you let me play tominght. I put the needle in the groove, baby you turn down the lights". These words fit perfectly for a third verse, give it a try.
