On this day in 1963 {March 2nd} a rock 'n roll show titled 'Limbo Party' was held at the Cow Palace in San Francisco, CA...One of the eight* acts appearing on the show were the Crystals; at the time the group's "He's Sure the Boy I Love" was at #17 on Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; and twenty days earlier on February 10th it peaked at #11 {for 2 weeks} and spent 11 weeks on the Top 100...Between 1961 and 1964 the group had eight Top 100 records, with three reaching the Top 10 and one peaking at #1 {"He's A Rebel" for 2 weeks in 1962}...* the other acts were the Four Seasons, Marvin Gaye, Lou Christie, Paul & Paula, Dick & Dee Dee, Herb Alpert's Tijuana Brass, and Chubby Checker {who hosted the show}...
