I remembered Just like Eddie by this guy in the 60s - easily the worst record ever to hit the top 10. One of my friends bought it and was ridiculed for weeks! This is immeasurably worse! Still, I suppose he must have a certain sort of courage.

I first heard of Heinz in Jake Arnott's "The Long Firm". I thought he was fictional at first. His "Village of the Damned" peroxide hair and his literally getting pelted with baked beans seemed unreal. Just goes to show! I have since enjoyed his portrayal in the film "Telstar". A true rock n roll character.

Love the way the crowd runs away from the stage when Heinz starts singing.

I think Heinz rocks out. This is really fun. His singing is fine. He has some good ole uplifting energy.

Woah ,that is such a depressing stage setup. Boring daylight ,people walking on and off. This once Joe Meek protege deserved a bit better than this depressing flash in the pan '72 rock'n'roll flare up. He was after all part of that short optimistic early sixties era that spawned The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.Although Heinz was a bit of a also ran, he still made a few interesting records with Joe Meek.

He looks a lot better here without his usual ugly bleach. Who's "Wilko?"

This was the weekend where Wilko spotted a band called the MC5, and he watched their guitarist (Wayne Kramer) strutting robotically across the stage ....and the Legendary Wilko stage act was born from this one gig!

German born Heinz Burt (Heinz Henry George Schwarz) played bass with the instrumental group, the Tornadoes - Telstar possibly their most memorable success and who also backed singer, Billy Fury. Joe Meek, the bands producer though he could get some more mileage out of the deal and promoted Heinz as a singer. Crippled by motor neuron disease, Heinz died in 2000, aged 57 following a stroke.
