As long as its a Williams singing I have to listen. Hank III has his place. Just like Jr strayed from his fathers style. Sons have a way making thier fathers a little crazy.

At my age (nearer to 60 than 55) you would expect my opinion to favor Hank Sr., but that's not necessarily the case. The predominate styles of music have changed a lot between the '40s and the '70s, and continue to change. Hank Jr. has the advantage of his dad's (and others from that period) influence . Hank Sr. did not have that advantage, which makes him a pioneer. Hank Jr still writes great stuff and is a terrific performer, though. Just don't get me started on Hank 3.

Some feel that Hank, Jr was better than his daddy, but each fella is/was the best at their own unique style and performance. Hank, Jr is probably my favorite performer, but Hank, Sr initiated his guts and ingenuity to bring along his own signature music. Very few stars, if any, had performed music the way he presented it. Besides, why does it so often have to be about who is better than who? I'm sure that if you asked Jr and Sr who was the better of the two, they would each point at the other.
