the new south is one of my favorite hank albums of all time he got a new record deal I think he hoping to get back on radio and have some more hits music has changed so much in 38 years if he replicate the new south it wouldn't probably get played nowadays I think this is probably the right direction for hank nowadays if they do him like curb did I would say hell with it and do something like that I would love it habits old and new the new south and wiskey bent and he'll bound are probably his best in my opinion of all time

Anyone who doesn't like this cover, is obviously no fan of Hank Jr. or Waylon Jennings, and Neil Young for that matter. I don't care for Eric Church, and even I can admit this is an excellent cover. But the live version from the 2015 CMA Awards blows this one out of the water due to energy shown by Bocephus!

I've been raised on ur music from the day I was in diapers and still love the old stuff but this is beyond ridiculous. just my opinion tho.

Hank... What are you doin man? You were my one last hope for country music. Words can't even describe the feelings I used to get when I was listening to Country Boy Can Survive with my dad out fishing, in the jeep, hunting or just cranking up my cassette player in my room. Its actually the first song I ever remember listening to. You were my hero man. You lead me to start listening to your dad, Waylon, George Jones and Merel. Now this... My antenna got ripped off my truck and I haven't even thought about fixing it because I was tired of listening to the radio with this kind of music they are playing now. I know music changes with the years but Luke Bryan, Jason Andean, Colt ford and unfortunately even eric church recently are not the direction we should be going. Where's the soul in these new songs? Country used to be about life. Good and bad. Song that used to bring people to tears, songs that used to actually mean something. Now it's all about spring breaking in your Dillard's "cowboy boots" drinking fireball while chasing girls that never even heard of you or your dad. It was one of my dreams to see you play country boy can survive front row but I honestly couldn't stand to here this new hip music you're gonna come out with. I'm disappointed Hank. Your music meaned so much to me.
