Gods. Just amazing. For what it's worth, anyone who hasn't heard Duane Eddy's 2010 album Road Trip, would be well served to do so.

Jack Firestick is a pseudonym! It is indeed Mr Brian Bennett on drums and percussion. Yes... a pseudonym... a bit like Steve Stix for me!!!! :)

Sounds like a drum machine to me! Why would anyone want to try and make live drums sound like a drum machine???

Have I been behind the times or what???? I have never heard this one. As a serious fan of good staccato, I should be deeply ashamed!!!!

You are correct, it is Jack Firestick on drums. Brian played on the next album "Heartbeat" in 1993.

Surf guitar rules. Believe it or not, Tom Petty's band made a whole surf guitar CD and there are a ton of new surf guitar bands out there. I love the sound and build my own amps and finally built a great stand alone tube reverb with two selectable reverb tanks ( one medium and one long decay) just for playing this kind of music. Dick Dale had some concerts in my area over the past couple weeks and they were standing room only for the King of the Surf Guitar.

I love surfin guitar and used to collect instrumentals but it's surprising that you can get people to pay money to hear a whole show of it. Maybe a half hour as an opening act.

@TehSlushPuppy No, it is Mark Griffiths on bass. Duane is playing his Gretsch guitar and Hank is playing his Fender. Recorded in 1992.

@GuitarBlues3 I suppose Hank Marvin was singing, was he ? Just because most "people" can't differentiate between a tune, a melody, a performance and a song, there is no excuse to go along with the mindless majority.
