Private Eyes is the 1981 hit album from blue-eyed soul duo Daryl Hall and John Oates. It stands not only as a definitive album for the duo, but as a notable album for the music of the decade combining pop, rock, R&B and soul genres.

The album includes 2 Number one hits—the title track, "Private Eyes" and "I Can't Go for That (No Can Do)," as well as the Top Ten hit "Did It in a Minute." "I Can't Go for That (No Can Do)" also spent a week at the top of the R&B charts -- a rare accomplishment for a "white" act....here's one of my favorites from the album..........Mano O Mano, enjoy!

@Isaac GrantYou serious? This is NOTHING like Shook Me All Night Long! The song was released on the Back in Black album in 1980. BEFORE this was even released, you muppet.

My brother and I listened to this ad nauseaum back in the day. My folks are still sick of it and I still love it. John Oates made this one shine.

Here in Argentina we say "Mano a Mano" often to mean an encounter (can be a fight or a conversation) between only two individuals in an equal situation, similar to expression "head to head".

AC/DC - You Shook Me All Night Long stole the melody.

Totally agree. "Change of Season" is one of the best Hall & Oates tunes of all time - not just one of the best Oates tracks.

I met John Oates in the Minneapolis airport about a year ago. He was alone and I was obsessed with this song at the time and told him so. He said he hadn't thought about this song in a while and gave me his card. Seemed like a very nice and humble man. He was my idol in the 80's as well as Daryl. Very cool!

Wow...I love John Oates, but that was probably a stretch. Go Solo or Open All Night would've done a little better. I will say that if John kept Maneater for himself, it would've still been a big hit.
