Here i am a third time you know when people dismiss Hall And Oates as 80's cheesmesiters they would be surprised to hear the greatness of their 70's material. Ever wonder why Daryl Hall is never mentioned as one of the greatest rock singers ever???? well dont wonder the answer is simple he isnt a rock singer he his however the best white soul singer ever!!!!!

This is in the same vein as some offerings by Ambrosia and Gino Vannelli from the same period -- and this is a VERY good thing.

This is absolutely my favorite Hall & Oats tune. From smooth vocals & harmonies to the trip the synthesizer takes me on all the way to the fade out!

Falling is a favourite song of mine from the Bigger Than Both Of Us album. Lucky enough to see them play it live in late 1970s. Incidentally they opened the show at that time with first 4 tracks from Bigger Than Both Of Us ... happy days!

Sorry my friend Hall & Oates were good right off the bat. Their first three albums are their best lyrically. Commerical Success doesent always mean artistic greatness. Their 80's material was catchy but fluffy and lacked the substance on those first three Atlantic albums. H2O however is their best album from the 80's.

I bought bigger than both of us when it was released and thought it was a great album, my wife fell in love with the track "Rich Girl" and i thought "Falling was the best track on it, the comment made about them falling into the 80s rock trap was on the nail, sad but true. Two great talents who made some awesome music, check out "lady Rain and other early stuff to really enjoy these guys.

I don't know how that earlier post could compare Hall to Hendrix on guitar. This music is too SOFT to even compare to Hendrix !! Hall & Oates didn't get good till the end of the 70s, and they hit a creative peak with "H20" in 1982. Then things started to go downhill after that when they fell into that bad 80s rock "trap" that briefly got so many artists including Paul McCartney and Jefferson Starship...

This could possibly be the closest one will ever get to actually being inside of a falling star and as close to Heaven as you could get. Seeing everything clearly, even with your eyes wide shut.

It was late November of 2008 i was on a Hall And Oates kick. I had my own business and the internet as well. So i made it a point to listen to every Hall And Oates album that i had missed. Falling is one of the songs that blew me away on first listen. Such a smooth tune and one of their best songs.
