I was assigned to Fort Ord, California in the summer of 1943 preparatory to going overseas to the Pacific theater. My wife of 4 months was with me. Most nights we went to the Salinas USO Club and danced "til it closed. Our two favorite song on the juke box were Guy Lombardo's" Where of When" and "Goodnight Sweetheart" the latter of which we played as the closing number every night. She passed away in March of 2013 after 70 years together, but as I play these two very favorite songs, the memories are as fresh today as they were in 1943. I hope that others have such fond memories of their loved ones.

I remember watching Guy on New Years Eve. It was a very nice way to welcome in the new year. New years rockin' eve is trash.
