Again, keep playing. I know that if I go too long (more than a day) without playing or using alchohol, it really hurts. Also, the calloused may peel, that's normal. Just don't help them peel, then you'll screw them up. Some people get blisters before the callouses, that's fine.. Just don't pop them yourself. Hope I helped, and please ask me if you have any more questions about anything guitar related. THAT GOES FOR ANYONE READING THIS TOO! I am here to help. Just let me know.

Next, you have callouses.... Now how do you keep them? Well, the easiest answer is to keep playing. But also, avoid getting them wet. Water DESTROYS CALLOUSES!!! If you do get thsm wet though, dry them fast and don't play for an hour (it'll hurt and you'll rub off the calloused weakened by the water). Now, the easiest way to keep them and develop them faster is to do what Eric Clapton did. He rubbed alchohol on his fingers (regular rubbing alchohol). This really works, and I use it all the time.

@AnimexUploaderx You will develop callouses that will stop them from hurting. Let me give you a few tips that work for me... First, PRACTICE! You need to hurt yourself (your fingers, nowhere else :)) Plau as much as you can, push down harder than necessary. Just dont let them bleed. Stop if you think they are about to. Ive never tried it, but I have heard that pushing on the edge of a Coke can helps.

@metal4ever1965 ...but I will say that they do have talent to a certain degree. Regardless, youve got to recognize them for using real instruments :) Also, you dont have to bring anything new to be talented. Your metal hasnt brought anything new since the late nineties. Metallica is still doing the same stuff theyve been doing for the last decade and so is everyone else. And maybe someone will say that Nickelback influenced them... You cant speak for the whole world.

@metal4ever1965 Nor would any other band. You cant insult Nickelback any more than you can insult metal bands (metal being inspired by Led Zepplin). Now, you can insult most other modern music though, because they DO have NO musical talent at all. But your metal (assuming you like it) is mostly random notes (not all, but most... Metallica is definately an exception). Now, I dont really like Nickelback as a band (with a few exeptions)...

@metal4ever1965 Youre right... But every other band out there is inspired by previous bands. For example, the Unforgiven 1 by Metallica has a huge Classical Gas influence. Without bands from the 70s and 60s, whatever music you like (Im guessing metal based off of your username) and whatever else out there now (Including Nickelback) wouldnt be around. And guess what? Those Classic Rock guys wouldnt have been around without classical music...
