Arcade machines are only high maintenance if you plan to use it heavily ( IE, physically abuse it, button mash, doing stuff you really shouldn't be doing to a machine). I own an arcade stick, and it's actually really low maintenance. I also work at an arcade, and most of the machines there don't require much repair all the time.
