Gov't Mule (pronounced Government Mule) is a Southern rock jam band formed in 1994 as an Allman Brothers Band side project by Warren Haynes and Allen Woody. They released their debut album Gov't Mule in 1995. Gov't Mule has become a staple act at music festivals across North America, with both its members and frequent guests boasting members from other notable bands, adding various funk and blues rock elements to the band's sound.

A ideia inicial era apenas um projeto paralelo ao Allman Brothers que revivesse os famosos power-trios das décadas de 60 e 70. A primeira apresentação da banda aconteceu em maio de 1994 no The Palamino, Hollywood, com um repertório que misturava composições próprias com alguns covers que ganhavam uma roupagem totalmente diferente, característica que a banda preserva até hoje.9 years ago

So I've been listening to a lot of diverse music for many years, playing many different instruments and generally obsessed with it for about a decade. Some friends of mine are bringing me to see these guys tomorrow, and I've been looking through their material to get an idea of what to expect. With that said, can somebody explain what is so great about this? It sounds like so many other songs, in many ways this is just a weaker Dead.
