Many people have expressed this is the perfect wedding song and I agree.Just think of the depth of meaning it would have if after many years of marriage one could still genuinely cite the lyrics to his or her loved one.Mr.Lightfoot is an ingenious poet.To me,this is his finest composition.

Wonderful song, what memories. This was sung at our wedding 35 years ago by my brother-in-law, who also played the guitar. My husband and I couldn't remember how it went! I guess it had been too long since we've listened to it!

I just heard this on the radio the other day and its one of the most "beautiful" songs Ive ever heard. I mustve heard this when I was a kid and locked it away because a whole bunch of memories came flooding back when I heard it . It was like hearing it for the first time again but I knew I had liked it 40 years ago even though i didn't know it. If any of that make sense lol.
