I don't know why your comment has so many likes. The things is, we know what Gojira is capable of, this was damn near 15 years ago, when they were still in infancy as a band. We can look back now and appreciate the simple brutality of their early music without having to critique the finer points on what makes it brutal.

When i found out that gojira is officially a death metal band, i didn't like this fact. But now, after listening to their demos, i realized gojira is unique. Even if you call it death metal, it's still unique. It's GOJIRA DEATH METAL, not usual death metal.

@UhohKyle 'Generic' death metal sounds like brilliant neoclassical music. 'Experimental' post-metal sounds like generic indie rock, which sounds like rock 'n' roll trying to deny what it truly is. I'll stick with the death metal.
