Track 1.

Us And Them (1999):

Us and Them is Godflesh's fifth official album. Released on May 17th in Europe, June 8th is the US release date. As with Songs of Love and Hate, the album is influenced by breakbeats, drum and bass, industrial and even hip hop.

There are no live drums on this record, unlike the last release. Live to Lose is actually an older track, originally recorded in 1995, but never released. A dub counterpart was scheduled, but never released.

Lyrics:

i, me, mine

i follow the signs

i, me, mine

take what i need

give me strength

but don't fight back

give me strength

now you don't exist

stand up straight

there's only me

i'm your world

there's nothing outside

listen to me

i'm always right

listen to me

'cos you're always wrong

Credits:

G. C. Green - bass

J. K. Broadrick - guitar, vocals

Every great band is allowed to do at least one "departure" album. Justin is way too hard on himself about this record. Even KILLING JOKE put out some very unlike Killing Joke sounding records and they just aren't that bad. Really great artists should sometimes break out of their own mold.

Not to sure why people hate this release so much, one of my favorites by Godflesh, gets better with every listen.

Radio Doble Nueve (99.1fm)

Fines de los 90's... sonidos futuristas, para ese entonces, que ahora probablemente para varios sea común escuchar estos sonidos que con Godflesh fueron toda una novedad.www.radiodoblenueve.com

Idiosyncraticizeable

I like to think of this as revenge for Pitch Shifter's 'Industrial.'

This album is 12 years old, and still, no industrial metal album could even live up to how great this is.

I remember they were slated for this album, dunno why its stands up so well. It was the first release of theirs I bought and then I went back to the start. Epic band.
