I'm amazed at all the "GF's frontman is Black?" Comments! LOL. That's old news; I love how people seem to be just finding this out in the last couple of years. I mean, if you know your shit about metal and what's out there, you've known THAT for years. I'm not making fun of anybody, so don't get me wrong. It's just funny to me, that's all! XDI remember when I first saw them, and I realized that he was black, I wasn't a thing to me. Partially because I had known of Killswitch Engage and Howard, along with Rage Against the Machine and Tom Morello (YES, he is black--"Latin" black--but black) before GF, and partially because I am black and had been so much about metal (still AM, now) that it didn't seem out of place to me. It's not just Byron Davis, of this band above but--look closer, friends--the drummer Corey Pierce is African-American, as well. And (as I'm sure a LOT of you know) Howard Jones (Killswitch Engage), Lajon Witherspoon from 7dust (duh) Alexis Brown from Straight Line Stitch, Michael Smith of Suffocation (although no longer, unfortunately T_T) and THEIR guitarist Terrance Hobbs. Not to mention Adam Warren of Oceano, Doug Pinnick of King's X, Tony MacAlpine (I know, right? "Mac" and "Alpine".... LOL! don't let the surname full ya--he's black!), Rasheed Thomas of Nonpoint, Jimi Hendrix, (NO-fucking-DUH), even that dude that was in Bury Your Dead for a while, whatever the hell his name was (last name Terry, methinks), Frankie Palmeri (in HIS mind, of course :P)--shit, comment-reader; I can go on ALL DAMN DAY! My point is: Not only have Afro-Americans been in hard rock/metal since FOREVER--or for longer than people think, at least--BUT there has been quite a few of them, too! I don't see why it's so shocking to people; especially to the non-racists!But, yeah; like I said; it's nothing new. And I'm ALSO here to say that: Just like basketball, football, baseball (once upon a time), boxing (again--once upon a time) hockey (we're there; P.K. Subban and Kyle Okposo and Donald Brashear just got shit started, and ya'll don't EVEN know it!) and--soon to be--MMA, black folks are going TAKE OVER METAL! That's right, Metal Masses; REAL "Black Metal" for your asses is gonna be the theme of the century real soon! Not that Viking, church-burning, KISS knock-off garbage! WHAT NOW?! LMAO! Naw, dawgs!
