Soft Cell did a great cover. There are butt loads of great covers. Little Eva had a #1 with the locomotion, Grand funk had they first #1 with they cover, Bananarama had a #1 with it.  Herman Hermits did almost nothing but covers, only band I know of that had different versions of they LP's release in the US and the UK and had hit that were not even on they LP or singles, like End of the World.

Just did some digging (<2 min, :P ), and I'm quite surprised to find this song to so old, 50+ years by now. Can't say what version I like better, but the song is very unique and catchy, and, at least, I like it.

Whoa, you made this mix. Love the 12" that AVI put out in the 80s. Great pressing to classic Gloria Jones track. I own the 45 from the 60s but the sound quality was amped up on the 12" and I loved the dub part. Great job. Still play this at my retro night in SF... Someone always askes "Who does this cover?," to which I reply "Cover?" They do that when I play Lyn Collin's 'THINK' as well; someone would come up to the booth asking who is sampling Rob Base...
