Cassie Bonner is all in one: musician, songwriter, producer and a terrific singer! His timbre is amazing, crisp and clear, kind of nasty, metallic, edgy, belting-like sound color, which reminds us of Stevie Wonder in the highest pitches and Glenn Lewis in lowest ones, being able to be as soft as Donny Hathaway whenever he wishes, but with quite different phrasings. When will he release the album including this masterpiece, Give Your Love?

Great creators works as Cassie does, by deconstructing other masterpieces into their building blocks in order to rearrange them in a different manner, so as to eventually obtain a brand new creation. Cassie's voice has many facets. He sometimes sounds like Stevie, sometimes Donny Hathaway, sometimes Charlie Wilson, and even Michael Jackson, all because he, like every artist, used pieces of the vocal stylings of the artists he admires and implemented them into his own voice. I don't see anyone criticizing Ne-Yo having a tone so similar to Michael Jackson!14 years ago

With all respect, I disagree with you. The most similar feature of Cassie wich reminds us of Stevie is his timber, sound color, just an issue of vocal placement, resonance. Melismas and vibrato are not the same. Also, Cassie sings Neo Soul, quite different from what Stevie does. Cassie seems a good performer IMHO, brilliantly playing roles as a producer, songwriter, musician and singer. Glenn Lewis and Jay Kay voices have also been compared to Stevie, just because of timber, not style. Regards.14 years ago

I don't think that isn't a good idea to keep on copying ur idol. Come with something new, jazzy whatever...be urself, not Stevie (vibrato and melismas are too much the same). Of course u r an amazing vocalist, but again, be a performer not just vocalist. WITH ALL RESPECT14 years ago

Yeah, I simply cannot understand the reason Cassie Bonner is not famous as a singer yet. I'm very fond of Stevie Wonder, mainly because of his range and power, but Cassie is able to powerfully go as high as Stevie and singing Neo Soul, which really appeals to me.14 years ago
