I spoke with Carl Finch about the making of this album several times before it finally came out--there were all sorts of scheduling conflicts, and it took a long time to put together, but this is an album for the ages. Back in the '80s, I was on a job in NYC & I was either staying at the same hotel as Tim (Herbert) or he was visiting someone there because I bumped into him (once, literally) twice in the hotel. He looked just terrible...very much overweight, disheveled, and pasty white skin. By the time he passed away, he was wearing adult diapers and showering many times a day...a sad & misunderstood man who loved performing...he wasn't just a showman, he was an archivist of these old tunes.

That is from a taping of the Uncle Floyd show in 1982, the guy is 'Tiny Thomas' (Charlie Stoddard) I found that from a quick google. All the pics in this video were from a google search for Tiny Tim and just put together to give you something to look at when watching the video. i had intended to make another one from the album, but never got around to it.

@merlin711oregon I am with you. I love the Beatles, but have a lot of respect for Tiny Tim. Even though this was recorded past his prime, I still enjoy his take on this classic song.

@AnAngelScreams I like Tiny but to say he had more talent than Lennon is ridiculous...Tiny was an entertainingly unusual interpretor of classic songs, Lennon was a songwriter, a singer and a musician....also totally non-militant in this reply

@crdakin Shush, foolish one. John and all of the lads ADORED Tiny. They invited them to be on one of their Christmas albums, and were in the audience when Tiny played the Royal Albert Hall. John had a great sense of humor, and would have gotten a huge hoot out of this. Hate Tiny if you must, but don't project it onto someone who loved him.
