From Gilbert`s great 1977 album SOUTHPAW , and also released as a single . From the first time I heard this song it reminded me of my own part of the world , Nottinghamshire in England where mining communities existed everywhere when I was growing up - not so anymore . It was lines like " We used to meet after work - me all covered in dirt and you with you hair all scattered ... " that I identified with . It was probably similar where Gilbert was brought up in Swindon and he may have had similar images in his mind when he wrote this song .....
