Been a Nils fan since early 70's; from Grin to the E Street Band, he is so good. The only reason to attend a Bruce Springsteen concert is to get to see Nils.

It's good but not as good as his Youngstown solo.

Great that you had a chance to see him live. There are several songs on this Bruce / E Street tour that Nils is way out there and just wales away. "This depression" and " Jack of all trades" (New wrecking ball songs) are great new spots for Nils to shine. The band is jamming better than I have ever seen...very polished...and you can tell they are having a ball. Great for the band and for the fans.

I recently witnessed Lofgren with Springsteen's band, 12 Nov 2012. Bruce gave him some and he went apesh*t with all this precise and way-out stuff. I was impressed, the guy has a monstrous right hand, and his sense of improvisation is truly out there.

@BARRIEMOREBARLOW OH WOW, you just earned a LOT of respect from me for saying that! Just what I was thinking, I mean, they included people like Kurt Cobain in that list, and Bruce surely belongs in their Greatest Songwriters of all Time, too.

I was surprised by RS also. Nils is a killer guitar player and swing-man. We were fortunate enough to see him several times over the past 2 years at gigs around the East Coast. Awesome as always. You should see his talents on the song "Dream Big". he excels in the Harp, Tap and cane dance, electric guitar with his famous mouth picking...A few YouTube videos show this and I heard a more formal video release may be coming...oh ya..and more from the E street band this summer-sweet

@htgeneral Ya, and Nils wasn't in 2011 Rolling Stone's Greatest of all time.....what a buch of morons at RS. Nils was a pioneer. He's the greatest living guitarist.

I think Nils is very talented but there's something about the continuous onslaught of harmonics and overtones that gets muddy sounding after a minute or two - he doesn't have a real crunch that IMHO is needed in some of these songs.

htgeneral....Yeah, Bruce deff. knows is a better player, he's even said as much. He's not dumb, thats why he made him an E Streeter. Awesome addition.

Have seen Nils many times in MD / DC area on solo shows and with his band. He really knows how to use the guitar. - Actually I think he is in teh top 5 of all time greatest guitar players. Think Bruce knows that too. ... These last few tours, Nils has many more contributions that really add to the E street band. ...either way, he is living a dream

You need to see Nils at his solo shows to see the full scope of his talent.......other than a few solo's Bruce throws him, he is largely kept in bubble wrap.
