yeah its an A chord. you should probably listen to the guy who knows music theory. its obvious its not an Am, just play it on guitar and youll know instantaneously that its supposed to be an A. not trying to argue here, but that he/she was right. yeah i dont know what anything he said means but you can tell by the tone of the note? (pitch) i dunno...lol

really? listen to the third of the chord. its a major third. a C#. which is going to make the chord major. Your ear wants to hear the flat 3rd in the A chord because C is in the key (diatonic) of G (in what we would call Ionian), but C# isnt. sorry for having a basic music education?

its actually just A, not Am. its a major chord, easy to hear Am though because that would be diatonic. but its major :)
