Duración: 02:50
Subido: 2011/08/01

Charted at #23 on Billboard Hot 100 in November 1955. One of my favorite songs. Also #26 for Pat Boone and #67 for the Gaylords during the same month. Later, this song charted at #27 for the Bachelors on the Hot 100 in December 1964 (#7 UK, #3 Adult Contemporary) and #93 on the Hot 100 for Bobby Vinton in July 1970 (#8 Adult Contemporary).

Original Billboard review: "Shaw gives a warm, impressive rendition of a dreamy ballad with lovely lyrics. He could make it big with this one."

Written by Art Crafer and Jimmy Nebb.

The other side of this single is "Look to Your Heart".

If it wasn't for a superb version by a man who does the most wonderful covers of life's greatest songs,I would never have discovered this particular rendition. This is one of those "oldies" that meant something; said something special in every word....."bobvocal" is today's man for all that.....check him out! K x

No doubt, this was always THE OLDIE(S) version in Philadelphia, PA; his hometown at least. It could be heard even 50 or more years later on stations that played the 40's and 50's Hit Parade like sainted WPEN AM 950 of memory. And, by the way, moreover, this just happens to be the best fluffing' version of the song, by anyone.

@Isrek1 You're welcome! It's interesting that Georgie's version was the most successful in the US, but it's possibly the least well-known today. I also agree with your assessment and feel this version is much better than Boone's and Vinton's has a very weak arrangement. The Jan Peerce version is great, and I have it posted on one of my other channels.

Never heard this version before. Far better than Pat Boone's banal rendition and miles better than Bobby Vinton's massacre of this number. I remember being thrilled by Jan Peerce's (of opera fame) powerful performance of this song. This Georgie Shaw's number is very nice. Thanks @CatsPjamas1 for spicing up my day.

@ferrarial You're welcome! I also uploaded Al Martino's version of "The Man From Laramie".

Never heard of Georgie Shaw but he does a creditable job on here. This was also the flip side to Jimmy Young's UK #1 version of The Man From Laramie also from 1955, I have Jimmy's version uploaded on my channel. Thanks for uploading.
