about 1965 it was, we were just filling up the tank of a friends e type Jag with gas at about 1 s/6 p per gallon when this track was playing and we were doing just that- Getting away! motoring was a privilege then not like it is now. Those were the days 60's for ever!!!!!

Does anyone remember this being used in a railway advert around 1990?

The bass player was, of course, Rick Brown, who played with many bands in that era, starting with Lord Sutch, then Cyril Davies and later the Brian Auger Trinity/ Steam Packet. He, along with Carlo Little on drums, was also the first part-time bass player with the Stones.

Now I know where the song Ballroom Blitz got it's inspiration from!

Fine suggestion but anyway - I don't think so. I've investegated the matter a little futher, and I think it might be (a young) Tony Reeves, who went on to play along with Jon Hiseman in John Mayall's Bluesbreakers and in Colusseum.

Isn't that a very young Alan Price enjoying the bass? Great playing indeed!

Who's the bassplayer in the background (having a good time!)? Looks like real live - and no overdubs. Great playing

@clivedobson1 Wow, Clive. I read, Lyn's Bio...very cool! : ) I see he also worked with Humble Pie, among many others. I hope you and Lyn are doing wonderfully these days! Best Regards, Vinny
