I'm a rock guy (Beatles/Lennon) are my favorite music. With that being said, I grew up listening to George Strait albums. His best stuff was released fro 1981 to 1985. 1986 to about 1998 were great in a different way. 1999 to present day is a guy that still has it. But nothing of his compares to his 1981 to 1985 stuff (and the best of that era never made it to the radio). My .02

As a little one this song would make me howl. I can remember my dad laughing at me but I really hated this song because it made me so sad. Now I listen and smile in recollection.

Great song. I first heard it in about '79 when Dale Bennett sang it at the Gold Derrick in OKC. I was doing some singing and couldn't wait to get home and learn it. I was so happy when George Strait brought it back.
