People wondering about George's current tone and playstyle, the man has been playing these riffs for DECADES. He owns them. He doesn't give a fuck. He's experimenting with the guitar, finding his own voice in the realm of tones and new harmonies. He's acting on impulse, improvising over basic stuff.Honestly, I don't like some new licks he comes up with, but I think it's mostly because of his new crispy low-gain (and sometimes effect-saturated) tone. Don't like it but I admire him for not being the SAME thing for over 30 years and being interested in new sounds and methods! Low-gain doesn't sound very well for his style, but man does it show skill and courage.

He's using an amp or a setup with not enough gain/distortion so that's why it seems like the notes aren't how they should sound

This is real! The guitar can begin to out of tune during a performance. Good on George for leaving that in. Its not always perfect.

Of course he is gonna sound different in his tone. And it's really not that far off minus delay. Go listen to Kiss of death the original studio version. But the difference between him and a lot of people he was famous in the 80's and early 90's was good I bet he was playing 8 hr days of practice where now maybe 1 hr or less unless preforming and still play good.

This is the killer lynch I know! His playing in this video is pure raw form, no bs, no gimics, playing his heart out on a slightly distorted clean channel. Excellent video!
