Just before I left a comment on this masterpiece, at the bottom I noticed a comment that accurately reflects my thoughts. If I may add something,this ingenious jazz guitar instrumental is a combination of improvisation, that despite the incredible virtuosity never loses the melody and emotion that carries or the spirit of this great classic.

George should make more records like this. This album shows his unmistakeable talents as a jazz musician worthy that name. He knew he could play from his albums with legendary organist Jack Mcduff. But this album confirms it once again that George is a great jazz guitar player in the tradition of Wes Montgomery.

First heard this on the now extinct, but great radio station WPAT in New Jersey in 1989 and was floored by it! Still my favorite interpretation of it.
