http://www.mrgeoffreywilliams.com The original video for this song from The Drop, shot in Ladbroke Grove in '96. I think. Wrote this song with Mykaell Riley. I'll be putting the other versions & up plus some live clips too. Mixed by Ronin

Geoffrey Williams, I salute you. One of the most under-rated songwriting talents ever. Picked up a 12" copy of "Blue" by chance in the 80s, then happened upon a songwriters CD that was being thrown out while working for a removals firm in the 90s (at Polydor), loved your CD in 2008 with "Superfly" and Meshell Ndegeocello's "I'm diggin; you......", and the re-work of Blue. It's not a love thing lol, but I guess I will always love you

@GeoffreyWilliams01 Yes Marvin's story is tragic. I'm a Marvin Gaye completist, so I have just about every thing. 'Here, My Dear' is a masterpiece. The relationship with Anna resulted in some of his greatest material, like 'Just To Keep You Satisfied' (from Let's Get It On). Anna and Janis. Any was the mother figure. Janis was the fantasy figment of his imagination.

@bolder2009 Thank you so much. I enjoyed doing this video, I only had to be myself! And thank very much for the accolade... Nope, never did any vinyl of the album.... I see you've read the David Ritz book on Marvin Gaye. I was fascinated and saddened by what I read; his father's jealousy, marrying someone who could mother him (Anna), his divorce. Speculative and opinionated but still riveting to read about such an incredible artist!.... BTW, check out Here My Dear if you haven't already! G

My favourite song from 'The Drop'. It took me years to find the cd, but it was worth the search. This is my first time seeing this video. Its beautiful! Its also nice to see that it was filmed in ladbroke grove, as that where I hang out these days. Very cool place to chill. 'The Drop' is one of the classics of UK soul. I'd put it alongside Lynden David Hall's 'Medicine For My Pain' and David McAlmont's 'A Little Communication'. Geoffrey, I wish you all the best in life and music! God Bless!
