This is one Gene's best songs. I see others say Keith W. or Merle H. did it better. Well, after hearing this by Gene I clicked on to hear Keith, then Merle sing it. Sorry to say, I only got through half of their versions until I went back to hear Gene do it again. I've never heard Lefty's recording of it so I can't say who does it better between him or Gene. But I've never heard anything from Gene Watson I didn't like. I especially like his gospel song called "Climb Higher". He shows the compassion of the song. Excellent.ssdquad409
