Gene was the most talented but down to earth artist that I ever saw. Went to so many of his concerts and every one of them was just sheer entertainment. Almost 9 years ago now we lost one of the best singers ever and also a talented song writer. There are impersonators that generally can create an atmosphere by the backing music and the chosen song but listening carefully I don't think anyone will ever have that crystal clear and at the same time husky tones to their voice. Gene was a true 'one off' that is lovingly remembered world wide. Thanks to YouTube Gene lives on for other generations to hear and appreciate and that's just fantastic.

Just listen to the way he caresses each note and fully rounds out each vowel! The only person this side of Art Garfunkel, who you could see all the way down his throat when he sang that treated words so artfully! BRAVO GENE!

Not produced by Spector, who by that time had returned west to run his own productions, but this is the closest Gene ever came to emulating Roy Orbison (whose hits about this time included "Crying" and "Running Scared," both of which sounded a lot like this). Wonderful stuff.
