Gram Parsons had nothing on Gene Clark's ability to write a perfect song.

Truly a unique talent. So underrated. No Other is still one of my favorite albums. Enjoyed seeing this (no doubt) rare clip.

When I watch this stuff over and over it always feels like a lightning bolt through my heart. He was so cool when he was alive and I got a chance to tell him in Houston, Texas when we both had to pee at the same time. His kid Kai is a clone, talent wise, check him out.

My favorite version of this tune with just Gene basically and his guitar. Gene you should still be around but you decided not to..... Why do some of the best do this?

You probably have your answer by now, but it was show in New York in 1985. To see full show see: Gene Clark - NYC 1985. :)

Gene was the best songwriter the Byrds ever had, and the best voice..

I look at Gram Parsons and The Burrito's and Poco and the Eagles and an Australian group from the 70's called 'Flying Doctor'. You could put Ry in there and Bob Dylan too. A genre. And Emmy lou and Heart Like A Wheel. Maybe a bit of Dan Fogelberg too.

Byrds to me from as a kid was 98.6% Gene. Didn't know who wrote what back then but he WAS the Byrds. And his solo stuff was better. Miss u.

A righteous version with the Gosdins was my wakeup after the Burritos did it.
