Rich Juzwick and Mike Salerno of the band Gemini Syndrome reveal the secrets to getting their tone using the Acoustic Lead Series amplifiers. The G120H Head coupled with the G412A Cab provide a tube sound with a solid state amp. Since they are on tour with Wayne Static of Static X, they need portable and powerful amps. The Acoustic Lead Series is the culmination of years of experience with such luminaries as Led Zeppelin, The Doors and Sly and the Family Stone playing Acoustic Amps. Check out Gemini Syndrome (Recently signed to Warner Bros.) and check www.acousticamplification.com

I just got my Acoustic G35FX. I already have over 10 amps but he 35 watts, a 12 " speaker at 8 ohms, reverb, delay and chorus- and I paid only $89 for it brand new. Comes with a 5 ft long power cord (three pronged). Honestly it sounds good with my expensive Archtop Hollowbody electric guitar. With other electric guitars it is a little too trebly, that can be dialed out.Strangely enough my expensive Guild A-150 Newark Streets Hollowbody Archtop with a floating pup sounds real good. That guitar is usually too woody and deep (dark) toned with many of my other amps. Bottom line for $89 and because it makes my Jazz Box sound good I will keep the amp.Oh, the reverb is good enough. The chorus is acceptable as well. I tried the delay and it's acceptable with good adjustability, considering it only has the one knob which increases or decreases the effect. It shares the knob with the reverb, but you get only one or the other-not both at the same time.Maybe the speaker needs to be broken in. That's probably true. I mean I always break in the speakers of my expensive Fender and Marshall Combo amps so then I would think the Acoustic combo need at least 10 hours of playing time to sound good. I am trying to be fair. I bet then the amp will sound good and I will be very happy $89 well spent. The magnet looks a little small, but it's still a 12 inch, 8 ohm speaker so for the price it's a good choice. Perhaps, perhaps not, I may someday install a better speaker as this one breaks up too early for my taste.I would recommend the Acoustic series to you, considering the low cost. Yes there are better amps (and more expensive) out there but hey I can already get tones that I really like rom my 2 hour old amp so I think the tones shall improve after speaker break in. I will be using this for low and medium volume, tasteful Jazz playing so in every way it is acceptable for that.Waaaay better than an 8" combo amp for sure.

Acoustic lead series did something right....make the GT50H all tube head. Too bad it's discontinued because it compares head to head with an orange th100.Otherwise, these guitar amps sound like crap.Acoustic bass amps are amazing, b600h is the best amp I've played through.

I have the same head and cabinet setup as on this video. I got it new, on clearance for $250 tax included. It sounds nice on clean channel. Four 12's fill a room nicely. I do wish it had separate tone controls for each channel as it does go from bass and full to really bright and overly sharp. I guess for the price I could keep it on clean and use pedals. For the price, a new stack, it'll get used well enough.

Great solid state amps. I like a simple solid state set up. I can get my Dimebag  over the top solid state metal tone easily! I use a little delay with the dsp. This amp can get a very similar tone to the DIME amps, which I use to own, but they have a better mid and you can hear them better when playing with a band. Your leads really cut through. I play in a well known 80s hair metal tribute that gigs over 80 shows a year. This amp has done an amazing job for us.  These guys in Gemini Syndrome are pretty lame though. I'm not sure why they are playing with the Freq knob on zero. The amp sounds best with the Freq knob at 5/noon in the middle. I own a Blackstar, Orange, Marshall, Dime, etc. I gig with this amp because it gives me a good tone for what I do at a value of a price. I can sound great without worrying about someone stealing or damaging my expensive gear.

Rich just switched to the Blackstar ID series which I own as well. Take notes all other solid state amp manufacturers :)

This is honestly a shit amp, well at least for my style of music it is. There is barley any sustain on it and you can't pull of pinch harmonics for anything. Also divebombs sound terrible on it, and it just doesn't sound right. I highly regret getting this amp :/ Sorry acousitc

I noticed the "frequency" knob was turned way down on their amps. This may have been why their tone sucked. I have heard other players play these amps and they did not sound like this. Paul from Guitar World does a good review on the combo. The fact is that no solid state will touch a tube amp's tone. Some may come close. For $250 you can't expect it to sound like a Wizard MTL. :)

just try and find one to try out on your own. other people have their tastes and its hard to judge how much variety there is just from other people

i have an acoustic dsp 120 2x12, and I have no problem with it. Its got some tones that are useable, but it really depends on what your music is and if this gear can fit. I've had many crappy solid states die on my during shows, and I've had high end tube amps die on me too! Bottom line, amps are gonna fail at one time or another, and if your ears like the sound then that piece of gear is probably what you need.

@1201zj I think the muddiness is due to the microphones being too far off axis. It gives it a muffled, dead sound. I've had that happen when I was recording guitars before. But yes the guitars are not in tune at all lol.

Like your bass amps, have yet to try the lead series, worth a shot.

@AcousticAmplifiers I do think that your amp is an excellent deal for the money. I own the Bass B100, and it is a great amp. I just dont know if the Guitar amp is for me. I play Jazz Fusion and require the amp to operate at both ends of the spectrum comfortably. Since I had the experience with the sales person (That knew how to operate it!), I will have to give your amps another try.

@AcousticAmplifiers I have tried your amps and have a love hate opinion about them. Right now I play on a Solidstate Fender Princeton Chorus. Right now, I am looking for something more modern. yet clean. I double on bass and have your B100(Which I love) . @deadcatautopsy87 has a point. when I first tried that same amp, I did not care for the sound of it either. The sound was clean and loud, but not warm. I later ran into a sales person that knew how to adjust the amp, and it sounded way better!

@AcousticAmplifiers LMFAO. Yeah man, those guitars are really out of tune, no matter how small the room is. Im going to have to play with these myself at GC, I want to know if they are worth the money. Ive done my homework on you guys and you've been around for 45 years. So that little dildo can suck on that. However, if these amps do suck in the $550 range, I will have to let you know why. And then maybe we can make a custom amp together lol
