Been looking for this track since 77 when WNEW FM in NYC played it, tuning in one day I caught the last minute of it as it faded out with the awesome GW organ comps I punched the record button on my cassette deck catching that last minute.. . All the DJ said was " Gary Wright has had a solo career long before the Dream Weaver album.." then my cassette recording cut out ! Ugh. . Finally I know what the track is and can listen full on now ! THANKS for the upload !

Extraction and Footprint are available on one CD. Worth buying.

If you're a Dream Weaver fan it's hard not to like this... after all it's Gary's inspiring voice still ringing out.... beautiful!

Wow, this tune rocks! I had 3 Gary Wright albums, but didn't know he had solo albums before Dreamweaver, after he left Spooky Tooth. It's a great sounding tune & great recording, I would buy it. But I think it just doesn't have the catchy hook of Dreamweaver & Love Is Alive & maybe that's why this was never promoted.

@AndrewNewZealand Geez, I couldn't tell you, Andrew. Try checking who actually played on the album itself.

@mawel1955 Is it Hugh McCracken on lead guitar, do you know? (he played lead on Extraction)

That's a young Alan White on drums who also played on Imagine by John Lennon, on All Things Must Pass and who eventually joined Yes.

Gary seems a completely different person on this album and on 'Extraction', compared to how he sounds on Dream Weaver, 4 years later. I don't particularly like all the electronic sounds of Dream Weaver I'm glad somebody uploaded this song, but based on a recent interview i heard with Gary, he's not happy to have his music shared about on the internet Well i'm happy anyway, cause I've been unable to find a copy of Footprint even though I often look for Gary Wright albums when i visit music shops
