In Australia, Canadian Duo Gary Weeks and Dave Beckett are bona fide 'one hit wonders'...and, even then, they did it the hard way!.
Their song "Could You Ever Love Me Again" was released in Australia in late 1973, and, eventually, charted nationally...but, it was a hard slog!
The track first charted in Adelaide, in January 1974...then, dropped out of the charts, only to re-appear in mid March.
In April, Brisbane picked up on it...then, Sydney & Melbourne in August...and, finally, in September 1974, almost a year after it was released, it charted in Perth.
This track was on the flipside of that single...released in Australia on a London 45,
HL-10372.
It is a laid back ballad, as opposed to the A. side, which was an uptempo pop ditty.
I have not uploaded the A. side because there are already plenty of copies on YouTube.
Gary & Dave's career AFTER the music died is well worth reading about...they both went on to be pilots with Air Canada, before Gary chose another, totally different career...he became a minister of religion and moved to Ireland.
This upload is from the original 45.
