Ronnie was definitely one of the more under appreciated rock guitarists from that period, having said that, i have always hated this guys voice and could only tolerate it because Montrose was so badass

I have one word for Gamma, MAGIC!!!!. During 1979 and later on the three Gamma examples were all outstanding. It seemed I could not get enough, great bass, drumming, vocals and the guitar riffs... not to forget killer synth as well. Gamma, UFO, Schenkers solo stuff all pure magic of the times. Thanks Ronnie I will never forget.

@grayaj23 I was @ the same concert!!! .38 Special opened & I remember taking a JD shot thinking whiskey @ 10 am???. By the time UFO came on, I moved backed to catch some air, once you finally got to the stage, the surge was, well a surge, you held back for a band or two til the one you really wanted to see, then you made a move to the stage. Getting back was another story,...

@genxxxersize i remember in the late 70's/early eighties, there was a bunch of crap on fm radio, they never played scorps or gamma or ufo... or stuff of that ilk, they were more into loverboy, foriegner, journey, that kind of crap.... solar heat/ready for action is/was a smokin' riff.... montrose has always been bad ass... check out open fire by montrose..a little jazzy but still smokin.. i cant find any on you tube, someone please post some.. i am too technically ignorant to do it..

@grayaj23 I saw that same show and it was great and I also saw Gamma twice at The Old Waldorf. I have often thought the same thing about Gamma 1 and 2 and UFO Strangers in the Night, the pinnacles of hard rock. There are many others, but those stand out for me.
