Именно так познакомились вокалист группы Алекс Капранос и гитарист Ник Маккарти — на вечеринке в Глазго в 2001 году, куда Алекс пришел с бутылкой водки, а Ник почему-то решил ее присвоить. Дело едва не дошло до драки, пока Алекс, уже успевший поиграть в нескольких весьма известных в Глазго группах и искавший музыкантов для нового состава, не поинтересовался, не умеет ли Ник играть на ударных.
