Comparing Steve Overland to Ozzy is like comparing Scarlett Johansson to Rosie O'Donnell. I saw Ozzy years ago when he was in his, so called, "prime"...the guy can't sing a f#@*in' note...never could. If it wasn't for studio magic and over dubs, the guy would still be playing local clubs.

I love both versions, this original is incredible, it's a great idea and excellent writing! With great lyrics and hooks!Ozzy's production and reworking made it a completely different and great version with not much of the original concept therefore they are two completely great and separate themes!Love them both!

Funny thing sure oz band stole the musically part but the lyrics are all bob daisley and ozzy. So it's not really covered it's like iron maiden's wicker man 2000 stole riffs from Judas Priest's running wild 1979. Ozzy lyrics are so much better.

The Overland brother's may have wrote the original Idea for this song but they should have left this song alone its horrible, I'm glad Ozzy and JakeE. Lee got a hold of this song and turned it into perfection.

You guys are fucking idiots. Ozzy did not write this song. Steve and his brother Chris Overland wrote this song when they were in a band called Wildlife with Soussan who went on to become Ozzy's bassist. Soussan was told to rewrite the original because Ozzy didn't like it and in return for recording it, Ozzy got 50% of the rights to this song.However, if you look on YouTube for Shot in the Dark by Wildlife you will find the original demo, released and written four years before Ozzy ever heard it.
