The question asked in orderTo save her life or take itThe answer "No" to avoid deathThe answer "Yes" would make itMake it"Do you believe in God?"Written on the bulletSay "Yes" to pull the trigger"Do you believe in God?"Written on the bulletAnd Cassie pulled the triggerAll heads are bowed in silenceTo remember her last sentenceShe answered him knowing what would happenHer last words still hanging in the airIn the air"Do you believe in God?"Written on the bulletSay "Yes" to pull the trigger"Do you believe in God?"Written on the bulletAnd Cassie pulled the triggerHow many will dieI will dieI, I will say "Yes""Do you believe in God?"Written on the bulletSay "Yes" to pull the trigger"Do you believe in God?"Written on the bulletAnd Cassie pulled the trigger(Do you believe?)"Do you believe in God?"(Do you believe?)"Do you believe in God?"(Do you believe?)"Do you believe in God?"And I will pull the trigger

Lacey's voice is fucking hypnotizing. Every time one of Flyleaf's old songs comes on in my playlist I just have to stop and listen to them.

I dunno why its rubbing me the wrong way but id just like to clarify the story behind this because so many people are getting it wrong, and its such a deep song with such meaning, id hate for people to get the wrong idea. After the massacre it was widely believed that Dylan asked Cassie 'Do you believe in God?' to which she answered 'Yes' and was subsequently shot. The truth is the exchange never happened. A girl named Valeen was asked the question but she answered both 'Yes' then 'No' and she was shot BEFORE she was asked the question, and not shot after. she survived.Cassie was shot by, i believe, Dylan (correct me if im wrong there). He knocked twice on the table, ducked down and said 'Peekaboo!" before randomly shooting her. She never got to say a word. She was not shot because she was christian. it was random and could have been anyone. The book some people have mentioned 'She Said Yes: the unlikely martyrdom of Cassie Bernall', was written by Cassies mother when it was still widely believed that she was the one who said yes. The final report revealed that this was not the case not long before the release but they decided to publish anyway because of the message of hope it sent to the christian community. (Never let the truth get in the way of a good story right? Just like that pesky science, always getting in the way!)Rachael was the first fatality of the massacre and was shot outside from a distance. I think she was also very religious which has nothing to do with why she was shot, but may have been used for a connection in the song. i have heard the odd rumor that she said "Yes" but m not sure on this matter. I was never under the impression that she said yes.The massacre was not a target at any one group. Jocks were mentioned but they weren't the only ones targeted. Isiah was black (sorry for political correctness there). Both christians and non were shot. The actural massacre was not primarily a shooting, but a bombing, in which they intended to kill everyone in the cafaterier (if the bombs had worked, they would have colappsed the roof and killed 500+ people) and they would shoot anyone trying to flee, from the carpark. but the bombs failed. CLEARLY this is not targeting any one group. This is mass hate. Sources:Dave Cullen - 'Columbine', Brooks Brown - 'No Easy Answers: Truth behind Death at Columbine' , 'A columbine site' and countless hours researching... its not a creepy obsession i swear!

There have been conflicting stories as to whether or not both these young ladies were asked that question that would cost them their lives, whether only Rachel or Cassie was, or whether neither was. Rachel's parents maintain their daughter was targeted because she was a Christian and that videos which were part of the investigation prove that she was harassed by the gunmen for her faith. Cassie's mother wrote the book She Said Yes, obviously because she believes her daughter died a martyr. Although people were certain originally about these exchanges between the victims and Eric and Dylan, after being questioned by law enforcement, there seems to be some doubt in the minds of some individuals.

Based on to conflicting info I'm not sure we will ever know the truth, but I'm sure the question was posed to more than one person that day.
