@traklight They had 2 many influences to just classify them as Ska. The sad fact is record labels/retail/radio all needed to classify and label everything for sales purposes. Anything they could not fit in a specific section was not considered a seller. I believe that is why the alternative label may have originated. Fishbone was one of the best bands to evolve from the 80's and one of the most talented and underrated.
